Llŷn’s Best Beaches: Abersoch Main Beach
Abersoch main beach is one of the most popular beaches in the area and it’s easy to see why. Its sheltered position makes it ideal for getting in or on the water. It faces the mountains of west Wales and St Tudwal's Islands giving spectacular views and is lined with beautiful multicoloured beach huts.
The beach is considered to be "safe" with no severe currents or rips in normal conditions. A motor boat exclusion zone provides a secure area for bathers. Speed restrictions are enforced near to the beach marked by a series of yellow buoys. During the summer there is a hive of sailing activity on the water.
Dogs are not allowed on the beach between the Yacht Club and the Golf Road slipway from 1st April - 30th September.
There’s parking by the yacht club and the golf road that has toilets, showers, food and easy access to the beach.
A short walk or cycle leads you to Abersoch village where there are lots of lovely local businesses offering tasty food and drink, and plenty of great shops to look around.
